Because their jobs were not categorized as industrial jobs many labor organizations were not interested in organizing them as workers. This was even truer for non white individuals. Many labor organizations cared little for women in general and could care less for women of color. Women could perform the same tasks as men and not get the same pay. They were still expected to go home after long hours of work and maintain their homes, children and husbands.
