What Caused The Great Depression
The Great Depression was a period of severely declining economic activity that spread across the country and caused for people to become poor. The Great Depression caused for employment to go down, industrial productivity to go down, and income. Economic output dropped from $104 billion in 1924 to $58 billion in 1932(American Journey, p. 774). The stock market crash was only one of the dominos to fall in causing the Great Depression. One factor that caused the Great Depression was the farms that were failing to produce crops. They were failing to produce crops because some were going through a drought. Also, the war had just ended and there was less of a supply and demand. Other problems that arose in the 20s were, the automobile industries
