Every educational institution aims to provide a quality, effective and engaging learning experience for all its students. This aim has always been central to every institution’s objective to achieve a significant success. And in this learning experience, the learning environment is one of its critical components. Those superior-quality services to support learning depend on effective collaboration between the academic staff responsible for delivering the curriculum and the learning support team responsible for facilitating this quality learning. So, as an aspiring academician, I hope to lead the institution’s aim to solidify communication both on the learning support team and the academic team by taking initiatives design interactive workshops that will encourage discussion among the two staff.
The workshop will be patterned after my desire to achieve the effective, necessary communication in the institution to promote an advantageous learning environment for students.
Obtaining quality learning support services can be a major key in improving the teaching quality evaluations and other aspects that are covered by the library service agreements and student charters found in several educational institutions. I have observed that a lot of students comment on the importance of library and other resource centers in helping them improve the quality of their learning experience and extend their learning environment outside of classrooms. It is this reason that it would be best for institutions to start integrating libraries within the academic process, which experts have suggested as a significant indicator for student
performance, especially in evaluating their effectiveness. For example, English subject teachers can include in their lesson plan a tour around the library to help students get to know where they can find resources or materials essential for their learning process. The learning support staff can then help students find the resources they look for by establishing an online platform where they can just type in the title of the material and search it on a database. Students are taught to be independent and manage their own learning process provided with a conducive, stimulating and quality learning environment.
I have also observed that there is a shift from teaching to learning across the entire educational institution, suggesting that students and teachers are now on active collaboration with the learning support staff like librarians in the learning process. So, it is important for the industry to take advantage of this improvement on the potential unity among students, academicians, and the learning support staff to create a solid and superior-quality learning environment.

Textbook tours are a fun way to introduce students to upcoming units in a specific class. Textbook tours are a way to have students interact with the text they will be working with for the year. By introducing the main topics and ideas to them before they read or look through the book can help engage the students and make them want to learn about what they will be reading. Connecting the textbook tour with something that interests the students and something that is fun and inviting will trigger the want to fill out the textbook tour. Textbook tours are great resources to use to introduce and…

It is very obvious that so many students come to the university library with their laptops and not a big portion of them use the hardcopies that are stacked on the shelves of the library. This, to a considerable degree, could mean that the students are there for the comfort environment that the library provides more than the actual books that are available, and which students can get online anywhere. The library looks like a center for students’ different daily activities, as it has various areas for different activities such as socializing, eating, group work, silent areas and computer…

Considering the gift of computers Bill Gates bestowed upon libraries for students, I’m sure his intentions were for the students to excel and keep abreast of the ever changing world of technology, not to replace reading with surfing the web. I agree with Judith Levine when she stated, “It’s important for students to read books, magazines, newspapers, history, poetry, politics and listen to people who know what they’re talking about.” Reading books and other literature teaches students the past, present and future, not only for things happening in the world today but facts about things past.…

The article I have chosen is about LeBron James giving back to the community of Akron. He wants to decrease the dropout rate of students in school by motivating them to stay in school and study. The Akron school area has a dropout rate of 24 percent which is a lot of students giving up on their life and potentially becoming nothing. When LeBron launched this program called Wheels for Education he talked to 342 third graders because it is known for students to start giving up on school in third grade. LeBron spent some time with these young kids and the dropout rate decreased and over 92 percent of those students ended up finishing high school with a diploma. LeBron went through the same difficulties in his time as a high school student that is why he is trying to help these kids that are facing the same problem as him. LeBron himself now is a very accomplished citizen. He plays professional basketball for the Miami Heat and has won MVP and a NBA championship ring as well. LeBron has got two gold medals from the Olympics as well. He is a very outstanding player. The kids look at him like a remodel which is very great that he does what he does and gives back to the community by enforcing that studying is the key to success for the kids in Akron.…

When students talk about study the first thing comes to their minds will be textbooks. In university, almost every student needs textbooks for their courses; however, most of these books are heavy and expensive. Most professors require students in their classes buy the textbooks for their course. Many people think that buy the text book is not necessary. Because there are many things which are electronic equipment we can use to instead of the textbooks. But some people disagree with this opinion, they think textbooks are important, nothing can replace it. Textbooks are necessary for students because books are healthier than electronic screens, more credible than electronic sources and more historical than electronic sources and more historical than electronic equipment.…
