If we go past the Milky Way and many more galaxies we will find out that our universe isn’t the only universe out there, but is instead part of a group of universes that we call the multiverse.

Edwin Hubble discovered that the far-out galaxies were all moving away from us, proving therefore that space was in fact expanding. This knowledge was that the universe was static. Astronomers were certain that the expansion has to be slowing down. That the gravitational pull on the Earth can slow something tossed up, the pull of each galaxy on each other would contribute to the expansion slowing down.
