What Did You Find Most Interesting Circ
What did you find most interesting? Why

I found most interesting about the Circulatory System is the heart is an incredible part of the circulatory system. The Circulatory System is the core transference and cooling system for the body. The heart is located in the midpoint of your chest considerably to the left. The heart contains four wall chambers that blood flow throughout the heart. The valves of the heart forces blood to flow throughout the ventricles into the arteries to prevent blood from backing into the arteries. The heart beats between 60 and 100 beats per minute.

The cardiovascular system consists of : heart (심장), and vessels (혈관), arteries (동맥), capillaries (모세혈관) and veins (정맥). A functional cardiovascular system is vital (필수적인) for supplying oxygen and nutrients to tissues and removing wastes from them. Paths of Circulation: Pulmonary(폐의) Circuit : carrying blood to the lungs and back 1. The pulmonary circuit is made up of vessels that convey blood from the right ventricle to the pulmonary arteries to the lungs, alveolar capillaries, and pulmonary veins leading from the lungs to the left atrium. 2. Carries the deoxygenated blood away from the heart to the lungs, and there by it brings the oxygen containing blood from lungs to the heart. Systemic Circuit : carrying blood from the heart to the rest of body 1. The systemic circuit includes the aorta (대동맥) and its branches leading to all body tissues as well as the system of veins returning blood to the right atrium. 2. Carries the oxygenated blood from the heart to the body, and also brings back the deoxygenated blood from the body to the heart. Structure of the Heart A. Size and Location of the Heart 1. The heart lies in the mediastinum under the sternum; its apex extends to the fifth intercostal space. 2. Approximately the size of the fist (주먹) 3. Location - Superior surface of diaphragm - Left of the midline - Anterior to the vertebral column, posterior to the sternum Coverings of the Heart 1. The pericardium(심장막) which encloses the heart. - Protects and anchors the heart - Prevents overfilling of the heart with blood - Allows for the heart to work in a relatively friction-free environment 2. It is made of two layers: I. The outer, tough connective tissue fibrous pericardium II. visceral pericardium (epicardium; 외심막) that surrounds the heart. 3. At the base of the heart, the visceral pericardium folds back to become the parietal pericardium that lines the fibrous pericardium. 4. Between the parietal and visceral pericardia is a potential space (pericardial cavity) filled…

The heart is what some determine to be the most important organ in our bodies and one of the biggest contributors. It is one of the major organs that if we did not have, it would not be possible for us to live. The heart is about the size of a fist and is broken down into four chambers, the aorta, superior vena cava, pulmonary artery, and the coronary artery. The four chambers include the right and left atrium and the right and left ventricle. The heart is responsible for supplying oxygen and blood to the entire body. Blood passes through these four chambers and then exits and pumps into the rest of the body. The heart also has three layers of walls…

The myocardium, commonly referred to as the heart, acts as a pump for transporting blood around the body via a collective system, known as the cardiovascular system. This system has various components; blood vessels; mainly arteries, veins and capillaries. The cardiovascular system has four main functions within the body. Firstly to transport dissolved oxygen, hormones, nutrients, salts, enzymes and urea to cells located around various places within the body, whilst at the same time eliminating any waste products such as carbon dioxide and water. Secondly, to protect the body from infection and blood loss. Thirdly, to distribute heat around the body to enable a healthy temperature of 37oc and finally to aid the body to maintain fluid balance. This ‘human pump’ can be regarded as two pumps. The fist sized organ contains two muscular chambers; the upper chamber; the atrium and the lower; the ventricle. The right side of the heart pumps deoxygenated blood from the veins to the lungs for oxygenation, whilst the left side pumps oxygenated blood from the lungs to the body. It is important to note that the two sides are separated by a septum. The blood flows through the heart twice within one cycle, this is known as ‘double circulation’.…

The cardiovascular system consists of the heart, blood, blood vessels and lymphatic system. The purpose of the system is to circulate oxygen to your body cells nonetheless; it also has to circulate nutrients. Your blood then returns the waste products including carbon dioxide of different metabolic reactions to the lungs and to the excretory organs.…

The heart is located between lungs and it is protected by the rib cage, it is thought to be the same size as a closed fist. The heart is protected a membrane called pericardium, this membrane contains a film of fluid which helps prevent fiction. Each side of the heart consist of an atrium and a ventricle. The right side of the heart carries deoxygenated blood through the veins to the lungs, and the left side of the heart pumps oxygenated blood through the arteries around the body. The heart is separated by a septum. “Each of the four heart chambers has a major blood vessels entering or leaving it. Veins enter the atria, and arteries leave the ventricles” (Strech, Beryl; Whitehouse, Mary;, 2010) The pulmonary circulation is the circulation to and from the lungs. The pulmonary artery carries deoxygenated blood this leaves the right ventricle to go to the lungs and the blood is separated between the two lungs and the pulmonary blood then carries oxygenated blood and then enters the left atrium. The main artery which is located leaving the left ventricle is called the aorta. The main vein which is located entering the right atrium is called the vena cava. The vena cava has two part (branches), these two parts are called the superior vena cava and the inferior vena cava. The superior vena cava returns blood from the neck and brain. The inferior vena cava returns blood from the rest of the body. The blood can only flow one way so there are 2 sets of valves which are between th atrium and the ventricles. These valves are called the right and left…

Cardiovascular system means the system of heart and blood vessels of human body. The term “cardiovascular” is a combination of two word; “Cardio” and “vascular”. The term “cardio” is derived from “cardiac” meaning Heart and the term “vascular” means blood vessels. So the name itself indicates that cardiovascular systems is the system of heart and blood vessels. Cardiovascular system is also known as “Circulatory System”. Cardiovascular system is made up of three major components; Heart, Blood vessels and blood. The heart is a hollow muscular organ made of strong cardiac muscles. The heart can push the blood through the circulatory system with great force. In fact push of the heart is the major force that causes circulation of blood throughout human body. Heart is made up of three layers; Pericardium, Myocardium and Endocardium. Human beings, unlike other some other species, have a closed circulatory system which essentially means that blood does not come into direct contact with body tissues. Rather, the blood flows in restricted pathways…

The cardiovascular system, also known as the circulatory system, is composed of the heart, blood vessels, and blood. The term cardiovascular refers to the heart (cardio-) and blood vessels (vascular). The term circulatory refers to the circulation of the blood. The heart is a muscular pump and its regular contractions send blood into tough, elastic tubes called arteries, which branch into smaller vessels and convey oxygen-rich blood through the body. The arteries eventually divide into tiny capillaries, which have such thin walls, that oxygen, nutrients, minerals, and other substances pass through to surrounding cells and tissues. Waste substances flow from the tissues and cells into the blood for disposal. The capillaries join and enlarge to create tubes that eventually become veins, which take blood back to the heart. Vessels carrying oxygenated blood (usually arteries) are shown in red and those carrying deoxygenated blood (usually veins) are blue.…

I took a trip to the art exhibit because I knew this would be right up my alley. The art installations were fantastic, and explored the People, Land, and Creativity of California. The temporary glass work exhibit was my favorite. No photographs allowed (by the time I found out, I had already taken seven photographs) and its mature content so preferably no kids allowed. But to my surprise there were tons of kids. The first art work that truly caught my eye was Fortunato Arriola’s “Tropical Landscape” (1870.) The social realist painting consists of green and blue shades as the scene takes place at a river bend. The golden frame (which is 48 in HIGH x 76.75 in WIDE (121.92 cm HIGH x…

The cardiovascular system (heart, blood, and blood vessels) works together with the RESPIRATORY system (air passages, lungs). As air is breathed in, the blood picks up oxygen from the lungs. The blood carries the oxygen to the heart. The heart pumps the blood into the arteries and on to the muscles and other body cells. Muscle cells need oxygen to keep working. Waste products are given off by the working muscle cells and are then removed by the blood. The veins return the blood containing wastes back to the heart. The heart pumps this returning blood to the lungs where wastes are exchanged for more oxygen, and the process begins all over again. The heart is a muscle and like other muscles, the heart gets stronger through the right kind of exercise. The heart acts as a pump to supply blood to the…

The three major components of the cardiovascular system are the heart, blood vessels and the blood. The main function of the cardiovascular system is to maintain blood flow to all parts of the body, in order for it to survive. The heart is a hollow muscular organ that lies left of the middle of the chest, and is about the size of a fist. The heart wall is made up of three layers; the Pericardium, Myocardium and Endocardium. The pericardium is a fibrous covering wrapping around the whole heart. The pericardium holds the heart in place by anchoring it to the diaphragm and sternum, but still allowing some movement as the heart beats. The myocardium is the thick, middle layer of the heart and is composed of cardiac muscle. The endocardium is the…
