What do biologists do? Biologists study many things. The three main things that they do are that they hypothesis, they make observations, inferences and they record data.
Without hypothesizing, biologists can not experiment or create scientific laws. Being able to hypothesis is very important in the world of science. Some evidence that I have, to prove that biologists hypothesis, are the activities we did in page 17 and in page 28.
In page 17, in our notebook, we did an experiment on our fortune fish. In this experiment, we hypothesized what affects the fish’s movement.
In page 28, we did the flower experiment with our partner, and in this experiment we hypothesized how we can keep the flower alive for a long amount of time. In both of these experiments, hypothesizing and making ideas, helped us come up with facts and statements about our experiments.
Biologists also make many inferences and observations. Being able to make observations and inferences help biologists observe and gather data and information for the experiment. In class, we also make observations and inferences. For example, the bird dance video that we watched. The video was about birds dancing to the beat of songs. The class observed the birds and asked questions on how the bird was able to dance to the beat. Another example is the fortune fish experiment in page 17. In this experiment we observed the fish and tried to figure out what makes the fish move. These observations that we made in both experiments helped us understand the causes.
Recording data is also one of the many important things that scientists do. Recording data helps biologists make conclusions and reports of their experiments. In class, we also recorded data many times. In our flower experiment, in page 28 of our notebooks, we make sure to record our data every day on the results of our flower. Another example, is on page 17 in our notebooks. We did the fish experiment and we also
