Bodacious was a muscular yellow Charbray bucking bull that weighed 1,900 pounds. This bull was ranked the most deadly and dangerous bull in the PRB. He was known for his explosive exit out of the chute. Also, his technique of kicking his back legs up, bringing his head to the ground, and slamming his head back crushing the riders’ faces. His bone crushing technique is what sent Tuff to the hospital. Tuff Hedeman got the lucky draw of choosing bodacious to ride in the finals. That bull has had only six other riders ride him and none of the six had lasted an eight second ride on this bull. That undefeated bull has sent every rider to the hospital, so Tuff knew he was up for a good ride. Tuff was ready to beat this bull and Bodacious was ready to show him that he was not an easy ride. During the ride Tuff said his first jump felt fine. Then Bodacious’ horn hit his face and he ended up getting slammed on the ground and his body went numb. He said he could not close his jaw so he knew it was broken. When he looked up at the audience they were all staring at him with terror in their eyes. They could not find the ambulance driver, so Tuff just sat down and watched the ride on the TV screen while he was waiting. When they got him into the ambulance, his eyes started swelling…

The character of Chief Bromden is one of the most unique aspects of Ken Kesey’s novel, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, in that he is a six foot seven inch mentally-insane indian who pretends to be deaf and dumb, and is also the story’s narrator. Chief Bromden is a severely interesting character in that he has an inferiority complex in regards to his, he is absolutely terrified of the big nurse and “the Combine”, and he has several hallucinations that seem to either contradict or enhance the story. One such hallucination is the fog. According to Bromden, the ward has machines that spew out fog to cover the ward and the patients. The fog acts as a cloaking mechanism that surrounds Bromden so thick that he can no longer see anyone or hear anyone.…
Throughout our lives we hear tales of ancient heros that have slayed dragons and gone to other dimensions to save the world. The mindset has presented a status of requirements for one to be known as an epic hero. In reality we don’t gain aid from the supernatural let alone fight them alike to tales such as Beowulf or Shrek, but certain individuals have proven the science behind evolutionary human attributes to be breakable. Bo Jackson became, what some may say, a god among things athletic. He was blessed with the legs to carry him fast across a field and the strength to take down forces with the gravitational potential of twice his size. Jackson became known as a humble superhuman, more robot than man, a demigod who found the field to entertain the millions of fans he gained along the way.…

Brotherhoods are associations, usually of men, that unite for common purposes. The members in the brotherhood typically respect one another, defend one another, and cooperate to obtain specific goals. The American Federation of Labor (AFL) was one of the first federations of labor unions in the United States, whose goal is to create better employment opportunities for workers. Kappa Sigma and Sigma Chi are two of the largest university fraternities in the country and whose similar values are leadership, service, and scholarship. In the novel, the narrator rarely speaks of his family, except for his grandfather who continues to appear throughout the text, thus there is a large absence of family. Brotherhood is a notion in Ralph Ellison’s Invisible Man, where the narrator joins a brotherhood to create bonds with other men like him. In the novel, the narrator encounters three brotherhoods that prove self-serving organizations that prey on the Black community.…
Being courageous is one of the first qualities that sets a hero apart from a common human being. Being courageous means to stand up to adversity without fear, to continue to forge on regardless of the daunting things one faces. Beowulf was not shy about showing his courage. When he hears of Grendal’s torment to Hrothgar’s kingdom, Beowulf races to their aid. He does not hesitate when he asks permission of Hrothgar to slay Grendal. He knows thus far, they have been unable to defeat the demon. When Grendal comes to the kingdom that same night, Beowulf, using no weapons other than his bare hands, looks -Grendal in the eyes and rips off his arm, causing him to be mortally wounded. (Lines 750-820) This passage of Beowulf is a great example of what it means to be…

Beowulf displays bravery and superhuman strength when he battles Grendel the monster himself and tears off the monster’s arm and hangs his arm in the hall to show that he has defeated the evil monster. “From the rafters where Beowulf had hung it, was the monster’s Arm, claw and shoulder and all”, this displays that Beowulf has a superhuman strength that shows bravery that an epic hero should have.…
