To begin with, Daisy Buchanan is a beautiful woman but she is also very selfish. Also since Jay Gatsby is in love with her, she is a very important character. The relationship Gatsby and Daisy have is mysterious because neither Nick and Jordan know about it. This tells the reader that they just didn’t want anyone to know what the relationship they had.
In the other hand, Gatsby is an American Soldier, before he went to war, Daisy told him that she would wait for him until he returned from war. Another symbol that the writer used is the Valley of the Ashes, this represented the consequences of America’s obsession with wealth. The writer also talks about The American Dream by the green light that symbolizes Gatsby's hopes and dreams to be with Daisy.
In conclusion, Gatsby and Daisy symbolize... because it shows their thoughts on each other and the the American Dream. The Green Light, represented Gatsby's hopes and the things he wished for in the future. While Daisy, very pretty but she is kind of self-centered. The use of symbolism allowed Fitzgerald to express and tell us what each character
