What Does Expository Writing Mean To Me
So far, my senior is going pretty good. I've been working hard on my PTP, trying to make it as professional as possible, while still trying to show who I am as a person. I'm not gonna lie, the classes have not been easy. The millions of assignments I've been getting have been a detriment to my grades. They seem to be very ubiquitous lately and I just can't seem to get away from them. I haven't exactly been on top of things lately. I'm on the girls volleyball team and we sometimes have to leave school early for our "away games", so I when I get back the next day I have to try and catch up on the classwork I've missed. But, there are a lot of things I could do better to make sure I stay on top of things. Like, going to see my teachers during recess and lunch, so they can help me catch up. Or, going to study hall before volleyball practice to get any homework done instead of waiting till I get home after practice. I'm proud that I actually made it to my senior year because last year and the year before that was not easy. …show more content…
I feel that I have gotten better on my writing because we spend so much time doing that. I can type a lot faster than I could before and I'm learning new vocabulary. Ms. Kline has taught us really cool words that I sometimes like to say at home cause it makes me feel super cool. In my perspective, Ms. Kline is actually an amazing teacher. She's really good at grabbing my attention during class time. Sometimes Ms. Kline likes to talk to us a lot and that's cool and all but I prefer doing my work in silence because it helps my train of

In the novel, Football Champ, There is a boy named troy who has to lead his team, and the NFL’s biggest star, to victory. I bet you don’t know a twelve year old that can predict game winning football plays, well now you do. Troy is the Atlanta Falcons best player, even though he isn’t actually a player he can think like one, he knows the right calls to play at the right time, and that can even lead his own team to victory and possibly make it to the NFL someday too. That is, if a reporter with a history doesn’t ruin it for him. This is an essay showing determination and kindness throughout the book and in real life today.…

I had some challenges in the first semester. I realized that it gets harder every year. I felt like ninth grade was a bit easier than this year. The final for English was easy. There were only two questions. We took a final for the novel, To Kill A Mockingbird. My goal is to have good grades, but also pass every class so that I don’t have to retake any. I want to be able to graduate on time. It always gets hard when almost end of the semester. That is the time when teachers start to give out more work. It’s a good idea but the same time bad. It can help bring grades up for some people. Most people are lazy so they rather not do it and fail the semester. My challenge was trying to focus with so many distractions in the way.…

Through class lesson I have learned new things from my classmates, from newspapers and from my teachers. I have learned that we as a nation are too quick to believe when something is right or wrong without taking the accounts into consideration. With this, I have learned to question the details and being more involved to avoid blindly answering. My classmates have taught me that we can all help each other improve. I have examined students in the Wight Foundation helping one another out so we can all excel. There is always room for growth even when you think you are your…

Things that I have learned so far about high school is that the more you will realize who your friends are they will really start showing you their “true colors”. Furthermore balancing the workload is a very hard task because you have extra curriculum and other responsibilities dealing with your household. Being in high school you aren't going to get pampered or a teacher constantly coming to you, tell you that you have work due , missing assignments , being in class on time and keeping up with your grades . Also , I have learned that you shouldn't wait unit the last minute to turn work in or ask for extra credit , most certainty you shouldn't wait until the day before the due date to turn in your assignments . By having other classes that will be due…

I should have focused more on my grades this year. By attending many social events, waiting until the last minute to complete work, and refusing to study my grades began to drop. I feel that if I would have put more effort into my school work I would have achieved the grades I am capable of getting. By hanging out with friends and putting off work my grades gradually began to drop. Your senior year is not the year to slack off in; it would have better prepared me for college and set the tone for how I should work if I had just put in the effort necessary to achieve outstanding grades. When in college I cannot make this same mistake; all of my dreams of obtaining a decent job after college could be ruined.…

For my freshman year, I had the help of my brother, but by tenth grade, he graduated from MHS and went to college. My sister helped me out to, but not as much, because she got in even more trouble than I did. She lost her freshman scholarship. Once I was in tenth grade, I was doing okay. My grades were good, but I didn't get effort and conduct or honor roll. By eleventh grade, I was a perfect student. Well… not so perfect. I didn't get effort can conduct or honor roll, but was very close. As a senior, I got no levels and only missed honor roll by a point. Effort and conduct, I also missed by only a point. My graduation was a lot of fun, and I got my ring, which says “Class of 2021” on it in actual gold!…

How I would spend my sophomore year is by making sure I keep a b-average and I have perfect attendance. I also want to improve my grades by going to more tutorials and studying harder than what I was doing before. If I could study harder and focus more I could get into a good college of my choice. I want try and experience more things going into my sophomore years and not get in so much trouble. I want to be a Crime Scene Investigator. The position of C.S.I I want to be in is autopsy surgeon. My sophomore year will be the most important year of my life, because it’s telling me now you are considered a “pre-adult” and need to change to life style if you want to graduate from high school or just pass the sophomore class year. I think the new year would be a fresh start to me doing better because I would have the better chance of saying "no".Looking back on my freshman year, I remember I had a problem with staying focus and constantly asked to be done something so many times. Since I know I only have one more grading cycle I am going to try and bring my grades up so I can have all my credits and become classified as a sophomore. I prefer to get my freshman year out of the way so I don’t have to take eight to ten state exams and freshman classes my sophomore year. That’s how I plan on improving my sophomore year.…

Thinking back at myself as a writer at the beginning of the course and seeing where I am now, as far as how well I write and how my writing process has improved, has greatly improved. Writing used to be something I disliked doing with a passion. I had always had trouble getting my thoughts on to the page, and making what it is that I wanted to say sound good and flow well. I used to consider myself someone who would rather do a presentation on something rather than write an essay about it; but now, I would say I would be happy to do either.…

Once I am out of the house, living on my own and experiencing new thing; I know that I will have to make some changes to my daily life if I was to juggle the tasks presented. I know I will have to improve my time management and organizational skills but I believe those things will be very doable. Since my freshmen year, I know I have changed in many different ways. I am able to handle a greater work load, defiantly less shy, and have a better idea of what’s on in both the school and around the world. Now comparing my junior year self to my senior year self, I see few yet significate changes. Last year, I was focused but at a different level that I am this year. A majority of my focus senior year has been spent trying to get into colleges, complete scholarships, and try not to completely stress out! Last year, my focus was more on my schoolwork and less on my life outside of high school. Although, senior year I still have been focused on schoolwork a majority of it has been on my online college…

My group member and I have come up with a product titled The Cooking Coqui. We named it this because of the alliteration to make it sound catchy to catch the children’s attention while also targeting the Latino Market with the Puerto Rican National animal. It is a frog that helps kids cook, at a young age. The name comes from the Spanish national frog Coqui; a Coqui is a small frog that is brown, yellow, or green in color. The frog is bilingual, he speaks Spanish and English. He will go over the procedure of cooking a specific meal in English then resay it in Spanish so people that speak one language can understand what he is saying while being taught a new language. This Disney Character will help Kids Bond with their parents because it will be a family show that you most likely as a child would watch with your mom. This come with a catchy anthem that is fun to sing for its audience to be hooked on the show. The talking Coqui will repeatedly say “cook it, cook it” in a rhythmic sound to make it sound like he is saying cook it but at the same time it sounds like he saying Coqui, it’s a double entendre. The Coqui will be named Carlos to add to the C sound of the name phrase Carlos the Cooking Coqui. This cooking frog will give basic instructions because it’s a kid’s show so none of the dishes will be hard to make dishes.…

The first website I chose was the Art of Cookery. This article is an expository essay and one can tell that from the first paragraph. The first paragraph states the thesis of the article, "Inviting a guest into our home means being responsible for their happiness for the entire duration of their stay". The first paragraph then goes more in depth to support its thesis by stating “it’s not just about the foods you serve, but the atmosphere you have your guest in.” The article then starts listing a step by step process to help the reader understand what to do. This is another characteristic of an expository essay.…
