One of the most influential movies from the 1990’s is Forrest Gump. Forrest Gump teaches you many lessons that deeply influence your life and help inspire you to be a better person. Forrest Gump is about a young child who, despite having a lower IQ and having several other disadvantages as a kid, still works hard to do his best. He remembers her as “The sweetest voice in the whole wide world… she was like an angel (Starkly & Zemeckis, 1995.)” Her name was Jenny Curran, she also had a rough childhood as her mother had died and her father became a belligerent drunk and made her life miserable. Forrest helped Jenny through her hard trial as she was taken from her father by the State of Alabama. As Forrest grew, he and Jenny started to grow apart but no matter what came up, or whatever happened, Forrest always had room in his heart for his love Jenny. Forrest, after being star football player for his high school, went to college as a running back where he was a phenomenal athlete. Shortly after he graduated from college, Forrest enlisted himself in the army where he was to meet his best friend Bubba. Bubba was an African American who was drafted into the army. Bubba wanted to become a shrimping boat captain where he would do what his family had always done: shrimping. But Bubba never became a shrimping boat captain.
