What Does It Mean To Be A Good Citizen
What does it mean to be a good citizen? A good citizen should be committed to their country and community. Also, a good citizen knows that they should use their freedom and education to be successful. They should also know that there is more to citizenship than voting and paying taxes. Citizen should appreciate the Constitution and work hard to be better people. A good citizen is someone who is willing to help other people, someone who is informed on what is happening in their community, and someone who can express them self when it comes to responsibilities. One example of a good citizen is someone who is willing to help other people. Being able to put others before our self, treating people the way we want to be treated, and having a good attitude are all factors of citizenship. Mostly everyone can find it hard sometimes to put someone else before their self, but if we would show more respect and treat people the way we want to be treated we would start to see a change in the world around us. Having a good encouraging attitude towards our self and other people could make for …show more content…
Watching the local news or reading the daily paper can keep us informed on what is happening in our community. Those sources can also keep us informed on world news as well. Knowing the local and world news could help citizens catch flaws, especially government flaws, and bring them to the public's attention to have them work on being corrected. In addition, community service can help shape a good citizen. Helping with community service could help us feel as if we accomplished something. It would help us to feel like a better citizen, and help us to feel more pride in our self. High schools are now requiring students to have a certain number of community service hours in order to graduate. I think it is a good requirement because it will help young adults to want to be better
