What Does Literacy Mean To Me Analysis

Literacy has been presented to us since kindergarten, we are taught to read and write. Although to some literacy is to simply read and write that is not correct, there is more to it that many of us fail to see the beauty that literacy possesses. Words are powerful and essential in our everyday life. To me literacy is an art. Not everyone has the potential to read profoundly and understand the uniqueness and significance behind every word that is written on the book, essay, or internet post that they read. It takes an open mind to see the what has driven a person to write what they have written. Literacy means knowledge and tool for wisdom. When we know literacy we read about many topics and understand what we have read and we are
able to apply what we have read to our lives. Words make me feel as if I was a bird soaring high with the ability to soar high without a limit that can stop me, I feel free to express myself. When I write I am able to choose what words to write without having to speak and be judge through the eyes of society that expects us to to think like them. Words give me a voice that no one can change or control they help me to communicate and inspire myself and others. Whenever I have a problem I am able to loose myself in a journal and write words that help me to see a new positive perspective to life.
