Logan attended Atlanta University in Georgia, and graduated as a valedictorian in 1927(“First Women to Preform” 3). She received her Bachelors, then went to get her Masters in Psychology from Columbia University in New York. Dr. Logan won a scholarship for four years to the New York Medical college and graduated in 1933 (“Myra Adele Logan” 3). She did her residency and an internship at Harlem Hospital. After working there for some time, she became an associate surgeon and a visiting surgeon at Sydenham Hospital. She was the first African American women to be elected as a fellow of the American Collage of Surgeons. She is also a charter member of one of the first group charter practices in the nations (“Myra Adele Logan” 6). This was developed to house doctors of different professions under the same roof.
