Autobiography
In my 18 years of living I've came across three different jobs. My first job was at Modell's sporting goods . My second was at an after school program, and last Payless shoesource. Each of the jobs that I've had throughout my life, I've had different experiences with each one of them. There were all different in their own way. Even though I've only been employed three times I've had my rough share.
My last job changed me as a whole , though I feel this was the very first job I actually got on my own. In other words the first two jobs that I've had was basically a program called Summer youth employment. The program selected people at random like a lottery and that's how I got chosen for
my first two jobs. After those two jobs ended I remember filling out applications, shortly after I got a call back from Payless to schedule an interview, I was ecstatic. The first couple of weeks where not that bad, but not knowing what I really signed up for I found myself in the back quite often. I thought I was suppose to be a “Sales Associate”. Me and this other girl was really the only African American girls working there the rest were Hispanics. I didn't really have a problem with that until I noticed how rude they were and they didn't even acknowledged our presents. That's when I really started to hate working there. My mangner was so small minded no matter what the other employees do wrong he doesn't say anything to them. Which was mind boggling. I started to think why did I get hired in the first place. I just had no choice but to finish my time there because school was coming up and I needed money to buy clothes and school supplies. While at my last job I've always said to myself why couldn't I be working at any of my old jobs, but the its starts to bring back some memories. My second to last job was not that bad actually, I would say this was the best out of all of them because of the fact that I love kids. Growing up with two younger brothers was a challenge but that was one of the reasons why this job was a little easier then the rest. I enjoyed working there, the kids were sweet and that's probably the only job that I would go back to. I did have some minor issues but it was nothing I couldn't handle. The first job that i had was at modell's sporting goods but it isn't what you think. Since it was my first job in the program that I was selected for I barely knew all the details. So instead of me thinking I was working at the modells retail store it actually turned out to be the Modell's Warehouse. I didn't find out I was working there until the first day I was in shock, and definitely a little disappointed. Everyday I would take the same hideous brown sweaters out of a box and stuff hangers into them and then pack them back into another box. I would do the same thing from 8 am until 4 in the afternoon . Could you imagine doing that everyday for the whole summer. My feet would kill me. The only good thing I got out of this job was two good friends that I still contact here and there. Overall the three jobs that I've had were definitely and eye opener for me and the other jobs that I will have in the future . I've learned and grown from the experiences
