Even when you are a pain in the butt to your mom, she still loves you. In Oh My Baby, Little One, the theme of love is demonstrated through the words, actions, and thoughts of the mother to her child.
The theme of love is expressed through the mother's words. "Oh my baby, little one, the hardest thing I do is hold you tight, then let you go, and walk away from you." (page 1). This shows that the mom really loves her child and she doesn't like to be separated from him, but she knows that he has to go to school and learn. One can tell that she is very close to her child, loves him, and does not want to be away from him. "So blow a kiss and wave good-bye- my baby, don't you cry. Children love these actions because it makes them feel loved and safe.
When the child is at school and mom is at work, she thinks "It stays beside you always, through everything you do. And you might be surprised to know, this love is with me, too." (page 17) .
