The treaty was to remove Russia from the war, and it was signed by Germany on March 3rd, 1918. Russia was was forced to give up Poland, the Baltic provinces, Finland, the Ukraine, and parts of Caucasus. 62 million and 1.25 million square millions of territory were surrendered. 3/4th of Russia’s iron and coal, 1/2 of industrial plants, and 1/3 of crop area was included in this land.
