What I Learned In My Writing

I never liked to think a lot about college, the reason is that I was afraid that I was not going to do good there. I was afraid of my classes because I knew that it was going to be challenging for me and specially English. English has not been my best subject. I just don’t think I am good enough with my writing. I would always struggle to get an idea of what to write. I never expected to get good grades on my assignment specifically essays, but not only that. Reading was difficult too, I could not remember what I read and I had a hard time concentrating myself. I was frustrated, in fact, I still feel like that. I do not feel the same pressure that I use to feel before, but I have more to learn. Overall, English 5a helped me change my perspective of this subject, and I learned to improve my writing and reading skills. I never thought I would do better in writing and reading. I hated doing writing because I was bad at it. Everyone seem to know better than me. I felt lost in my classes and I could not believe that I was required to be good at this
I’m glad I used their tips for my essays. One thing I didn’t know was that I can have plagiarism in my paper if I don’t put the information right. I thought that as long as I have the authors name and source I was okay, but I guess it’s not that way. I learned that paraphrasing someone else’s words can be bad if you don’t use quotations. I used to think that writing something on my own words from someone’s text didn’t need to include anything. One thing I learned from professor Henry was that using my writing from other essays is bad because it’s like stealing and it will say that it is plagiarized. He said that we can use parts of that essay, but we have to talk to both professors first and ask for permission. In addition, “They Say, I Say” was helpful for me to know my level as a writer, but also to know how to improve my writing
