The way I am impacted through genetics is my addiction of playing cricket. I always play cricket with my brothers. When I was back home in Pakistan, we used to play every day. It was usually watching my brothers, and then I decided to play with them. I feel I like cricket because of genetics. Since my parents loved playing cricket, I feel since they played; I am enjoying playing cricket now. Another way genetics has impacted my self-identity is through cooking. I always felt like I should try to cook. Whatever my mom does cooks, I try my best to copy her, but most of the time my food was never as good as her. The way the environment has affected my self-identity is my parents. Whenever I feel like I can’t do something and I will never be able to do it. My parents always support and me and cheer me on in life. Whenever I get compliments from my teachers, I always feel encouraged to pursue more things in life. You can learn new things from the environment especially from your family members.

I learned a lot of things about the Islamic culture. Ramadan comes once a month, and it’s a particular time of the year where all the Muslim people don’t eat and pray( this is called fasting) to get blessings from Allah. We fast because, in the month of Ramadan, God opens up the gates to heaven so we Muslims who were selfish over the months can ask for forgiveness. My family has influenced my judgment.
