3.7.1 Questionnaire

Research point out that if the researcher is using the postal survey to do research, so the convenient option will be a questionnaire. If the sample is huge and widely dispersed, it is better to use questionnaire because it is cheaper and faster compares to personal interviewing. Generally, postal surveys inclined to have lower response rate compare to telephone interviews or face-to-face. But if the questionnaire with a covering letter sent to the population will tend to have higher response rate (Mathers, Fox, and Hunn; 2009).

In this research, the questionnaire is to help the respondents to find out the purpose of this study and can get to know the information that

In other words, this test is to measure the design of the questionnaire before continuing the real surveys. This test is only included for a smaller group of people as to guide for the bigger research.

In this research, there is 20 set of questionnaire was give out to the respondents for the purpose of Pilot Test. Respondents were asked to answer the questions based on their perception and opinion. The result from the questionnaire was used to improvise the clarity of the questionnaire. Besides, the reason to do this pilot test is to make sure that errors in the questionnaire would not affect the reliability of the questionnaire in future before distributed to 110 of targeted respondents.

According to Connelly (2008), extant literature suggests that a pilot study sample should be 10% of the sample projected for the larger parent study. However, Hertzog (2008) cautions that this s not a simple or straightforward issue to resolve because these types of studies are influenced by many factors. Nevertheless, Isaac and Michael (1995) and Hill (1998) suggested 10 to 30 participants for pilots in a survey research. In addition, Julious (2005) in the medical field and Van Belle (2002) suggested 10% of the project sample

This software able to give more reliable results based on the data collected. On the other hand, if the results showed not reliable hence researcher has to redesign the questionnaire. After that, the researcher needs to repeat the pilot test until the result is shown reliable. Cronbach’s Coefficient Alpha was used in this study so that can conduct the pilot test.
