Girls are terrified to gain weight and are continually reminded by the media the value in weight loss. Teens who suffer from unhealthy body images tend to develop eating disorders among themselves. Eating disorder are common in adolescents, especially girls. Anorexia is one the common disorders in teens. Anorexia is a lack or loss of appetite. Steve Bressert,Ph.D states, “People with bulimia nervosa consume large amounts of food and then rid their bodies of the excess calories by vomiting, abusing laxatives or diuretics, taking enemas, or exercising obsessively.” Bulimia usually evolve from anorexia. Sometimes people with bulimia are underweight but sometimes they seem to be an average weight. Bulimia can result in death also. The Ranch declared, “Bulimia damages the nerves that signal to your brain that your stomach is full.” Tooth decay and loss can also happen as a result of bulimia due to the frequent vomiting causing stomach acids to eat away at the teeth. Those with bulimia sometimes suffer from psychological problems that can last for years and even endanger their
