The story, “A Rose for Emily” by William Faulkner an American writer states, “She told them that her father was not dead” (Faulkner ###). Implying that Miss Emily has lost all sense of reality due to the death of her father. Also, knowing that her father was the the only one close to her, it was such a huge toll on her to accept the death. Losing someone who means so much will affect you mentally and physically.
