In schools, the adults control everything. Kids have no say on what they learn or how they learn. Students have no say on what methods of learning help them the best, it’s always however the teacher wants it to go. When the teachers yell at students, it’s okay because they’re just teaching, but when students yell back, they are dangerous kids that should be locked up. Adults don’t realize that kids do whatever they see and when adults yell at kids, the kids will yell back. When the kids do yell back, they are always the bad guys and are unsafe to be around. If there is an elderly teacher, all everyone talks about is “when are they going to retire or they are not able to use technology” (Sage Life Technologies 2016). The elderly and youth discrimination in schools needs to get better because that’s where everyone spend half of their lives.
Discrimination against the youth and the elderly goes as far as discrimination in communities, language, and in schools. Saying things such as “you can't teach an old dog new tricks” or “act your age”, asking when someone is going to retire, or making a 17 year old not being able to do anything without their parents is discrimination. So next time, think about this, everyone’s getting older and everyone’s been that age. Treat others the way you want to be
