Another reason Atticus is considerate, is because he always does what is best for his kids even if they do not agree, or want to. When his kids get teased about Atticus doing the court case for Tom Robinson, he always tells them not to start a fight, or to let it get to them. Jack asks if Atticus has ever laid a hand on Scout, and he denies, because he does not think it is right, and he usually get by on threats. When Jack and Atticus are talking about why Atticus took the Tom Robinson case, he purposefully worded it to what Scout needed to hear, because he knew she was listening in to the conversation. He knew all those things were best for Scout and Jem. Atticus is also wise. He is wise because he knows many things from his past experiences. He knows how to handle hard situations with his kids from his past situations when he was young. He also gives good life lessons. He tells his kids that the bravest people are the ones who start things, even when they know that they might not end well, or go as they planned. Lastly, he does things that most people might not think is right, but he knows it is the right thing to do. He takes the Tom Robinson case even though everyone looks at him badly for it. He knows even though he will not win the case, he would not be able to hold his head up in the town if he did not try to help Tom. For all these reasons Atticus is considerate and wise.
