many things and only want them to follow what they are suppose too. My mom is the same way, if I really wanted to go for something I love, majority of the time she will disagree with my decision.
She would only want me to do certain things that she wants me to follow by. We could bump heads but I know she only wants the best for me. The same went for Jess, her and her family had their up’s and down’s but all in the end they finally understood her saw her point of view and accepted it. Jess’s parents are so strict on their religion because they followed by it their whole lives they want their daughters to do the same as well. They only want what is best for their kids and they think that by following their cultural customs they will be happy. Jess’s older sister gets married and is pregnant. But on the other hand Jess doesn’t want that she wants to pursue her dreams and her parents were very much against it. Jess can still adhere to her culture but I mean she can still do what she believe is right which is following her religions. As in the movie Jess stated that if the religious leader they believe in didn’t want her doing this then he wouldn’t have gifted her with this gift of playing soccer. The extent that we are shaped and defined by others is cause of our society now and
days. We shouldn’t be defined or shaped by how other see us or how they want to see us! We should be who are! We think we should be what other want us to be and it should not be that way in this society and or our family. No one should go against what we want to do or who we want to be. They must accept us as who we are. They have the option to take it or leave it!
