Eazy-E, fondly known as the “Godfather of Gangsta Rap,” was one of the most authoritative African-American forces of the hip hop and rap revolution in the 1990s. Eazy-E, hailing from Compton, California, became an unstoppable, dynamic force in the hip-hop and rap community after his wild success in the rap group known as NWA. Born September 7th, 1964 as Eric Wright, Eazy-E by no means had an “Eazy-E” life, born into one of the most notorious areas in the world for gang activity and some of the highest crime rates at the time, Eric Wright did whatever he had to do to survive on the streets. Although his parents were fairly wealthy, it was inevitable that with his surroundings at the time, he would begin to participate in illegal activities. This was released during the peak of police brutality, to combat against this issue one of the songs released on the album was titled “F*** Tha Police”. Although in an interview every member said they fully support the police because they “keep the streets clean”; on the other hand, they highly disagreed with the brutality and abuse of power.
