What Is Equal Pay Discrimination
Equal Pay

Discrimination. That’s what this world has come to. Discriminating against people with skin of color, their religion, their choices in life, and most of all, against women. Some men think women can’t do the same job as well as them just because they are women. Therefore, women are getting paid less than men for doing the same exact job. That needs to change. Fast.

Tons of people say women shouldn’t do a certain thing just because it’s a “man’s job”. Well, I’m here to say different. Women have done so much, so why can’t they be treated equally? What did women do to deserve this unfair treatment? Women are strong, independent, and they don’t need anyone telling them what they can and can’t do. Especially when it gets to the point

    In day to day life, people judge and make biases with every person they meet. It can be on the way someone walks, the way they speak, or just how they carry themselves. Anything and everything that is seen is up for grabs. That's the way people have been for decades. But the most prominent is between genders. For years, men have had advantages women were simply denied. In the early 1900’s women were treated incredibly unfairly to today’s standards. It took half a century for a change in their outlook as they became able to have birth control in the 1960s.     First, the pay that women receive is still unequal to that of their male counterparts. On average, white women are paid 78 cents to the white man’s dollar, and it is worse for women of color; for instance, to the white man’s dollar, black women are only paid 64 cents, Hispanic women are paid 54 cents, and Native American women are paid 59 cents.     The story begins at a local Wal-Mart super center, its Friday, payday. As employees open their paychecks they are awaiting their annual raise. As one employee, Sue opens up her paycheck she finds she has not yet received a raise; she has waited all year for this raise. She is very sad to find she did not receive one, she begins to think maybe she did something wrong. She starts to think back through the year, and can not seem to come up with any solutions as to why she did not receive one.
