What Is Group-Based Institutional Care?
Group-based antenatal care is a form of care for pregnant mothers that exist in different countries like United States of America, Australia and European countries. This approach came with the current trend toward patient centered care (Thielen, 2012). The first initiation of group based antenatal care was from USA in early 1970 (Wedin, Molin, & Crang Svalenius, 2010).
Centering pregnancy is one model of group-based antennal care was started by Schindler- Rising in early 1990s (Wedin, Molin, & Crang Svalenius, 2010). This model had been studied extensively (Thielen, 2012).
