What Is Henry Hudson Courageous

Henry Hudson was an explorer that had a river,strait and bay named after him. He went on 3 different expeditions seeking for the NorthWest Passage. In one of his expeditions he almost died of mutiny. While on his fourth Expedition Henry’s crew abandoned him, his son, and other crew, members, they left them there to die which they did. Henry Hudson was brave and courageous. He put his life at risk for the sake of the country. On his first expedition he sailed under The Muscovy Company (Russia). He left on May of 1607 from London. His boat was named Hopewell. Henry went with his son and crew. He sailed north to the coast of Greenland to Spitsbergen. There he found whales, seals, and walruses. They kept sailing north until
Henry's many supporters argued for his release saying he should be permitted to sail for England. On April 17,1610 Henry set sail for the fourth time looking for the Northwest passage. He was funded by the Virginia Company. He sailed the ship Discovery under the English Flag. He sailed to North America going further north than he had before. He navigated through a perilous strait that was later named Hudson Strait, he also sailed into a large sea, now called Hudson Bay. He was convinced that a way to Asia could be found through that sea. He never found the way through. His crew began to starve and Henry did not treat them well. Finally, the crew mutinied against Henry. They put him and a few crew members in a small boat and left them adrift in the bay. Then the rest of the crew returned to England. In the end, no one knows what happened. I believe Henry Hudson should be admitted into the Explorers hall of fame, for many reasons. He should be admitted for his tenacity, hope, hard work. He never gave up. He never let anything stop him from believing he could find the Northwest passage. If facts proved he couldn't find a Northwest passage by 99.9% he still didn't give up hope.
