Homeostasis is important because it maintains a steady body temperature; a steady blood level; hormones; blood pressure. Our blood and body temperature would have dramatic swings without homeostasis. For example, Diabetes and its symptoms are examples of when blood sugar levels are out of homeostasis. In addition, when its cold out, we shiver, and to try to stay warm. If it is too hot out, we sweat, because we need to cool off. If our body temperature changes too much, we can die, so homeostasis keeps our body in balance.
