That quote comes from my original (mostly positive) review of McG’s initial Charlie’s Angels theatrical adaptation from back in 2000. So yes, I really have always been kind of obnoxious about this stuff going back at least fifteen years. I bring this up because, as you’ve probably heard thanks to The Hollywod Reporter, Sony is rebooting the Charlie’s Angels franchise as another would-be film series. The big news is that they are in talks with Elizabeth Banks to direct the film, which of course is based off of the popular 1970′s television series which turned Farrah Fawcett into an icon. So yes, with the upcoming Young Adult Fantasy Franchise entry Red Queen, Pitch Perfect 3, and this would-be Charlie’s Angels project on her plate, it would seem that I don’t have to write any whiny screeds about Ms. Banks not getting her due payoff for directing Pitch Perfect 2 to a $280…

Bing has acquired 12 million merits from his dead sibling and has the advantage of skipping advertisement. In the bartroom Bing catches Abi singing; he persuades her to go into Hot Shots, which offers a possibility for people to escape the slave-like world around them. Bing persuade Abi and, feeling there is nothing "genuine" worth purchasing, buys the ticket for Abi. The judges Wraith, Hope, Charity, and the public like Abi singing "Anyone Who Knows What Love Is", however they state there is no space for a "Above Average Singer" and rather allow Abi to end up as a porn actress in a television show called "Wraith Babes". Subsequent to incitation from the judges and the public, Abi agree. Bing comes back to his room without Abi and any merits.…

The Girl with all the Gifts has multiple setting, the novel first took place in Hotel Echo in a base in London in the future. In the past London experienced a breakdown 20 years ago where a disease named Ophiocordyceps infected almost the whole civilization. Once the breakdown occurred everything became a dystopia. The world full life with video games, money etc, turned into broken society with flesh eating creatures. M.R. Carey began the novel with Melanie and her fellow students strapped in wheelchairs having classes daily then going back into their cells. The children are numbered and classified as test subjects, and were taught about the past world. They were brought to the base as little children by sargent parks and other military men to be tested why they were able to halt the disease ophiocordyceps from taking total control over their minds. The scientists dissected a couple test subjects and brought Melane the most intelligent subject at the base to the lab. Miss Justineau began to care and love Melanie during classes and went to save her. An explosion stopped everything, then windows shattered and hungries and junkers bursted in. Miss Justineau along with Dr. Caldwell escaped to the outdoors and noticed Melanie…

"Still Needing the F Word" describes not only how society views women, but also men view women. Anna Quindlen quotes Betty Friedan who said “I used to write poetry. The guidance office says I have this creative ability and I should be at the top of the class and have a great future. But things like that aren’t what you need to be popular. The important thing for a girl is to be popular.” Society is degrading women. The worst part is that women and young girls are believing that they too have to degrade themselves to be prosperous in life. Quindlen also states "Californians were willing to ignore Arnold Schwarzenegger's alleged career as a serial sexual bigot, despite a total of 16 women coming forward to say he thought nothing of reaching…

I decided to explore the topic of the infamous show Grey’s Anatomy which was created and directed by Shonda Rhimes. This television series has been up and running since 2005 and since then has reached 13 seasons and continuing to grow every season as we speak. Grey’s Anatomy was the best fit for a media analysis paper because within this show there is so much that goes on that topics could never not be debatable. Just as a slight overview for Grey’s Anatomy this is an ABC’s television series and this show is about an narration following a group of interns and their journey to becoming a surgeon, and this show is showing their professional lives and personal . We are living in a material world." This famous line in one of Madonna's songs entitled "Material Girl" will never outgrow itself. Ever since the beginnings of monetary means, the main focus of living is getting more money and to be as successful as possible. This became a huge issue during the 1920's. In this era, people made money from the stock market, illegal bootlegging and so forth. With these people hitting the jackpot, this then created a new rank called `new money'. This rank, however, never overpowered `old money' the most wealthiest, well-known and respected class. The possession of material wealth however, can't bring true happiness. Love is an important factor in this equation; when you don't have love, it is hard to say that you are happy. Daisy Buchanan's case in The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald proves this to its entirety. When having to decide between an empty marriage with her husband Tom and Jay Gatsby, her love interest, she chooses Tom even though he doesn't make her truly happy. It is then evident all throughout the novel that materialistic properties of wealth and status triumphs over love.…

Camille Paglia once asked aloud “Heaven help the American-born boy with a talent for ballet.” It is not right to ridicule or target a child for liking something that goes against masculinity or femininity just because they belong to a certain gender. What actually defines a gender? Simple biology has taught us to differentiate men and women by females being able to bare offspring and our common sense merely perceives the physical anatomy. Believing that the world consists of only two genders has been a cultural invention that which does not accommodate the vast amount of experiences humans are capable of living. Even methods of parenting can play a major role towards forming their children’s sexual identity. However, although people are born either male or female, they are made and shaped into men and women.…
