Understanding that it is just as important to know how an individual
My leadership philosophy is I believe in leading by example and treating people with respect and honesty. I support my peers and subordinates alike through accomplishing my task and learning to overcome diversity and adapt. As a Non-commissioned officer, I strive to develop my Soldiers, my peers, and myself. I believe in a team approach and good communication to be successful.…
My personal philosophy of leadership is to set an example, treat people as they want to be treated, be accountable, listen actively and develop effective communication. Having a positive attitude and celebrating even the smallest of wins, is a part of my philosophy as well. I believe that a leader should be able to handle problems in a democratic way and be able to lead, trust and respect all employees. Changes occur in all organizations and as a leader I will be able to assist employees to be prepared for these changes and assist the organization with implementing those changes. As…
Lastly, my philosophy on leadership is simple: lead by example, always help, and never quit. Quitting is out of the question for me. Using excuses instead of giving your best, giving up on something (or someone), or abandoning your responsibilities are things I absolutely do not believe in. Promoting excellence in others starts with promoting it in yourself. I have found from being in…
My philosophy of leadership is just that, to be a leader. I will be held accountable for the issues that arise in my school building. As the leader, I need to be able to drive my staff and students in the direction where success and sense of accomplishment is in reach. Each staff members, student, and parents needs to be on board and focus on the outcome. When leading a large group of staff members, a leader must rely on trust, consistency, and honesty to gain respect of the staff.…
As a leader, it is important to be able to see when there are issues but also it is important as a leader to be able to handle issues or problems in a way that is democratic. A successful leader is one who is able to lead their employees but also has the respect and trust of his or her staff. All organizations go through changes and challenges and that is when strong leadership steps in and tries to carry the organization and prepare the organization for these challenges.…

Taking ENES 317 has exposed me to lot of knowledge such as one leadership/Management skills, personality types, approaches to problems and decision making. In the past, I believed that leadership was a quality that could be learned and taught, but I also thought that leadership would best fit people with some personal trait such as charisma or personality of an extrovert people. With the knowledge gained from this leadership course, I came up with an individual Bill Gates who is successful in leading but an introvert, and he has successfully managed to influence others, who virtually revitalize our personal computers/phones and way of shopping. However, some of the things I knew about leadership before taking ENES317 was that a good leader should be open to new ideas, forgiving to his/her followers, and demonstrate humility. I still believe that without these qualities a leader can only become arrogant in their leadership that their behavior may isolate them from their followers. My focuses on this paper will be to analyze the self-assessments test taken in class and the leadership theories presented in class.…
7. My leadership philosophy therefore is influencing others to achieve a common goal through partnership and collaboration. Once this is achieved, then that "boot" that arrived in 1994 aboard the CGC Yocona with high CG dedication would not be let down by a misplaced verbal lashing. There is a time for sharp words in short order but we must have a keen eye on when they are to be…
One attribute of life for which everyone strives to achieve is success. However, obtaining this outcome leads individuals down many different roadways. Some choose to be the frontrunner, forging through the struggles, often gaining followers in the process. The followers choose to trust those of reputation, lending helping hands wherever needed. Common throughout the entire population, both forgers and followers, is the practicality of goals.…
Leadership I have quite a few leadership roles in my life. I am a Family History Consultant in my church. I am able to help others find out about their ancestors and family history. At school, I am a leader because right now I am directing a mini musical, and so far it is going great! In my community, I am able to be a leader by helping others.…
Part of leadership is the ability to make a difference under difficult circumstances. But, what is a leader? A leader is a person or thing that holds a dominant or superior position within its field, and is able to exercise a high degree of control or influence over others. I portray the qualities that a leader has: persistance, determination, confidence, and passion. This past summer my gymnastics career went to the next level; I was offered a job at the gymnasium.…
Only a handful of people can fully fulfill this belief that I believe in. I am 16. My mom always tells me since I was little I was a leader. I always did things my own way and everyone would want to follow the way I was doing something. I believe in being a leader and to not be a follower.…
It seems after careful analysis of literature the research presented in this paper points to authentic leadership as being the superior leadership style and is associated with the most positive outcomes. However this style of leadership is more so suited when used in correlation with other leadership styles i.e. transactional and charismatic and differs from the other leadership styles by possessing mechanisms of multiplicity. Charismatic and transactional leaders can be seen as authentic but authentic is not defined as being any one particular style of leader per se(Avolio & Gardner, 2005). Authentic leaders manifest themselves in different ways depending on their place in the world and the climate they are dealing with(Ms & Rita, 2011). Authentic leaders are…
My leadership philosophy is about making genuine connections to people. In order to influence people to be great leaders, all the key factors should be tapped in to in some capacity. I make sure my actions speak louder than my word. I lead by example by rolling up my sleeves and showing team members I am not just an army civilian but a part of the team. This philosophy applies to my life whether at work or home. I credit these key factor as the core of becoming a great and effective…
