In the year 79, Mount Vesuvius erupted, boom! Pompeii now has no people, except for the tourists and plaster forms. Archaeologists have started uncovering the mysteries of Pompeii, how their daily life compared to ours, and how the eruption transformed everything. Mount Vesuvius detonated and concealed Pompeii in 20ft of stone and ash. The ground quavered and the Pompeians started to flee. Some decided to take shelter inside their houses, thinking that the would be safe. Poisonous gas escaped from the volcano and flooded the city, killing the people in hiding.
Giuseppe Fiorelli was an archaeologist who worked on digging up the secrets of Pompeii, Italy. He drilled holes in the ash and poured in plaster. Continuing that, he showed
how people felt in their last moments. People have uncovered a lot of Pompeii, but there is still a lot we do not know.
Everyday objects found in Pompeii have shown how the citizens used to live their daily lives. Many of the objects we use today have a specific purpose, but back in their time things had many different purposes.
