This book is presents another powerful reminder, that God is actively involved in the lives of those that diligently seek him. This book has provided a great deal of advice for any Christian that is interested in living to glorify God. One bit of advice that stuck with me through reading this book, and advice that has been etched in my heart, and in my spirit as I continue on the battlefield for the Lord, he wrote, “Keep the view from the throne. If we will look at life’s experiences from God’s perspective and what His Word says, then we will not be deceived by Satan who is seeking to defeat us by his lies, distorting reality from God’s kingdom perspective. Founder, William B. Ruger, first took an interest to guns when he was a child. He first started building and designing them when he was in high school. Ruger studied liberal arts at the University of North Carolina. He attended college for only 2 years before he quit school and decided to venture on his own to fulfill his dreams of designing and building various guns. In 1939 Ruger started working on a design for a machine gun. He had moved to the “seat of the country's firearms industry” with hopes to find work with any of the numerous firearms companies. By the end of 1939, Ruger has not found any work and moved back to North Carolina where he received an offer for work as a gun designer from the U.S. government's Springfield Armory in Massachusetts. By 1944 World War II was at its end and the government no longer required the services of Ruger so decided it was time to open a store of his own. But after a few years he was forced to close the doors. Soon thereafter, Ruger contacted an old acquaintance by the name of Alexander Sturm.…

Many psalms contain references that are considered to be messianic, but none more than Psalm 22. Modern readers may read this passage and consider it as prophecy pertaining to Jesus. This is a logical conclusion considering that it is referenced in the New Testament more than any other Old Testament passage and contains imagery incredibly similar to what is found at Jesus’ crucifixion. The purpose of this paper is not to prove that Psalm 22 is prophetic and thus, predictive of Jesus, but to examine Psalm 22 in its historical context and its value to future interpretation of this psalm.…

DeClaissé-Walford also points out, in her book Introduction to the Psalms, that individual hymns of thanksgiving “were addressed to God… [during] the worship of ancient Israel,… [and that those hymns were geared towards] praising God for goodness to or on behalf of… [an] individual… [These hymns of praise were] usually [offered] for deliverance from some trying situation.” Psalm 146 is a hymn that deals with three themes (i.e. praise of God, His kingship, and the Lord’s justice) which are motifs that both ancient and modern believers in God can relate too. This…

In the first section of this book, Monica Rose Brennan talks about what our true identity is in Christ and how we need to remove our masks and stop being fake and be real with people. Psalms 139 sheds light on what our identity in Christ is and tells us that we are “fearfully and wonderfully made.” She breaks down Psalms 139 into 4 unchanging truths about who we are in Christ. The first unchanging truth is that God has a perfect knowledge of us. The second unchanging truth is that God is omnipresent which means He is always with us. The third unchanging truth is that God is our designer who uniquely and purposefully created us and she also reminds us in this truth that we are not an accident.
