Religion is the belief, practice and worship in a god or gods. To be religious means that, no matter what, you find a way to practice and strengthen your faith. To me religion means following my Christian faith. When I was a child, my favorite day of the week was Sunday so I could go to Sunday school. Growing up a strong Christian was always a big importance in my family. As a Christian I believe that reading the bible, going to church, and praying daily are important aspects of my faith that for me, bring me closer to God. However, I do not think it is right to try and push my religion onto others.
I think that religion is whatever you want to make of it. Just because someone is religious doesn’t mean that they believe in God, it just means that, whatever they believe in, they put their faith into action, and stay true to their beliefs. Although I am a Christian I am not a perfect person. In high school I didn’t go to church, read my bible, and I hardly ever prayed. Being in high school and having a strong faith in my religion was really hard for me. I was always afraid of being judged, or made fun of for believing in God. Now that I am out of high school I don’t worry so much of what people think of me, I try to go to church every Sunday, I read my bible and devotions at night, and I pray before bed. To me, doing so brings me closer to God. I think that being religious makes me a stronger, happier person. It has also taught me how to forgive others, and give without expecting anything in return. My life has not been easy, but the battles that I have overcome with the help of Jesus Christ, have made me the person I am today.
When I lived in Michigan I attended Resurrection Life Church, I really enjoyed it they played good music, had a good youth group, and welcomed anyone who came through the door that church was like a family to me. When a family couldn’t afford to pay their bills, or had nowhere to stay, the people of the church would do
