Technology is not just machines and equipment, it apart of life and what we need for many different reasons. “Technology is a concept of primary importance, so by necessity the definition of the word is precise: 'technology is the practical application of knowledge so that something entirely new can be done or so that something can be done in a completely new way†(ESA Technology, 2009, pg 2). Technology is the knowledge and use of any tools, crafts, machines or anything that has to be operated manually or by hand to solve a problem and perform a specific operation. It is a key tool that everyone in the world may need whether or not they know it. Technology is needed in many professions, be it a doctor, teacher, a tattoo artist, and much more. Recent technological developments, including the telephone, the printing press, and the Internet, have lowered physical barriers to communication and gave humans a way to interact freely on a nationwide scale. However, not all technology has been used for the quietest purposes; the development of weapons of ever-increasing destructive power has progressed throughout history, from clubs to nuclear weapons. This goes to show that technology has been around for a very long time, but it was not as advanced.
Indeed technology has advanced over the years and has affected society and its surroundings in a number of ways. In many societies, technology has helped develop more advanced economies. Years ago, there was no e-mail, texting, thousands of different smartphones, video chatting, high quality televisions, and more. The new ways of technology is not as time consuming, and it is basically a more rapid way to get things done.
