What Is The Cause Of Spartacus Life
My person Spartacus was known for being a gladiator and for his slave revolt starting 73 BCE. My person, Spartacus obtained power by his slave revolt, within a short amount of time he increased his army to 70,000 followers, from local shepherds slaves, etc... Three events in Spartacus life. First his slave revolt in 73 BCE which he seized a wagon with weapons and fled to Mt. Vesuvius, his army quickly reached 70,000 over a little time. Second he defeated armies of two praetors and the governor of Gaul. Third the third servile war is destroyed by Pompey and Crassus. Spartacus didn’t do anything beneficial for Rome. Spartacus was detrimental for the Roman people because he caused a huge slave revolt, this is bad because slaves were a big portion of Rome. He killed a lot of people, this is bad because killing in general is bad. He raided villages which belonged to Roman people. He gained his army from locals which made their army harder and harder to defeat for the Romans. …show more content…
My person, Spartacus was bad for Rome. The reason he as bad for Rome was because he led a huge slave revolt. About 400,000 out of 1 million people were Roman was slaves.
