Much of them accepted low wages because in their countries their wages were much lower. They saw this as a change, even though it was a very little change. The people who received this kind of payment, mostly worked in factories, almost all working in the production of weapons and new innovations. There was a lot of production of weapons in which helped the United States war time economy. The production of war supplies raised a big military industrial complex. After war, there was a huge economic growth in the post war period. The technology department increased the economy, in creating automobiles, aviations, etc. The mobilization in World War II made changes into the social and economic status of the United States of America. For the first time, women joined the workforce. Most of these women were immigrants who wanted a change in their lives. It is great that women joined the workforce because it opened opportunities for others. Immigrants also, helped the wage rate go much higher. This is because as work spaces had less capacity for others, companies started expanding in which it opened new job opportunities. All immigrants saw this as the “american dream” where most wanted a change in their lives and they believed that coming to the United States would do that. For example, Mexicans came to the United States through the Bracero Program, which organized to fill for agricultural field workers, not caring about their low payment. Immigrants expand the size of markets, this caused firms to increase in size. Immigrants also pay taxes, as do illegal immigrants they still pay taxes in their good expenses and in their rent. A lot of immigrants started with very low and bad experiences, but later got better. As immigrants made 1/4 of the high school dropouts, most dropouts being United States citizens. They helped the US, because if they were 1/4 of the people who dropped out then, they wanted to be successful more than the United States natives.
