What Is The Difference Between Twilight Zone And Lord Of The Flies

The three main characters from both Lord of the Flies and Twilight Zone can be paired together and grouped into three different categories of character personality: ego, id, and superego. Ego, the ‘good angel on your shoulder’, represents the ability to represent modern civilization and law and order. At the very beginning of each story, Ralph and Colonel are introduced as the leaders. Although they may differ from each other maturity wise they are both able to take control of most situations and bring a proper, and usually moral, order to the survivors. Each of them have their own way of taking command of each situation in order to make the best out of each situation. Whether it be tending to those who need it, or getting a lay of the land so they can get a better perspective on their situation, they are up and ready to make sure the best is to come to everyone. Jack and Corey both come off as strict men, but once introduced to the severity of each situation they leave all modern instincts behind. Rushed by the need to stay self-sustained they had both murdered two people (or, at least, Jack tried to murder the second), whether it was for water such as Corey or if it were out of intimidation and fear such as Jack. If there were any human part that they had initially held onto it was that they tried to portray themselves as someone they were not. Throughout both stories these two characters’ fight against ego to try and take hold of the power and control, but Id cannot take form of ego. They tried to portray that they had the ability to change into a man of law and order, but survival instincts push themselves forward.
