men as equals. African American struggles were very tough and it took many years to finally come to a solution, even though it was not entirely what they were fighting for. I appreciate the topic of slavery because it was both informing as well as touching. Even though African Americans were given rights back then, they are still not treated as equals in our time today. The topic of slavery or in a more general term, racism, is still relevant today which also makes it so interesting to me. African Americans have never stopped fighting for what they believe in and as a result I find a lot of respect in their history and how they were able to get past all the bad times.
One topic that I did not enjoy learning about was Post American Revolution, or more specifically, the political part of the American Revolution.
With the ending of the American Revolution, there was a full chapter about the creation of our new nation which I found very boring and dull. Even though it is definitely an important part of our history because of the writing of the many declarations at the time, there was not enough fun things happening in the chapter, such as fights and battles. Everyone knows that fights and battles are exciting, however they were not in the chapter, making it very saddening. I also found the chapter very boring because of the fact that in middle school, one of the first history lessons that we learned was about the bill of rights and the creation of our new nation. America was extremely focused on the creation of treaties with England that nothing occurred during the time. The chapter was also filled with many important, but boring people. The founding fathers were indeed very important, however they weren’t very founding of fun. The men who were the creators of our new nation made the section very dull because of all the different treaties that had to be learning in the process, but many thanks to them for creating the country that I live in
today.
