Abstract
Evidence-based care plans are an important and beneficial aspect of the healthcare world. Identifying the importance of evidence-based practice and the benefits it can provide in regards to quality management is vital. Overcoming barriers and enforcing this method of practice can help reduce healthcare costs and implement the highest quality of care. At the Asthma and Allergy Clinic, evidence-based care plans are enforced by management and implemented by all clinical staff.
Evidence-Based Care Plans
As the healthcare industry is making rapid advance, many health organizations are faced with new methods and procedures in regards to quality care. Evidence-based practice can be defined as decisions that are made based off of previous knowledge and research. The combination of clinical expertise and evidence gained through clinical research results in the method of evidence-based practice (Atkins, Fink & Slutsky 2005).
This method is widely utilized within many healthcare organizations in hopes of providing the highest quality of care to patients.
