What Is The Meaning Of To Kill A Mockingbird
The book, To Kill a Mockingbird, has a very strong meaning which includes racism and the respect that you should have for other people. In the book, Tom Robinson is compared to a mockingbird many times in the book. Tom Robinson was an African American male who was accused of raping a white woman, when in reality, he was innocent, just like a mockingbird. Also, when Bob Ewell attacks Jem and Scout, Boo Radley saves the children by stabbing Bob Ewell in the ribs with a kitchen knife.
Boo was a very shy person and nobody ever saw him, so Heck Tate, the county sheriff decided that Bob Ewell fell on his knife. The reason why was because ruining somebody’s privacy would be a sin, like killing a mockingbird, because mockingbirds never did anything
wrong to anyone, just like Boo never did anything wrong to anyone. Tom Robinson and Boo Radley were the two characters that were compared to a mockingbird because they were innocent people.
