What Is The Middle Passage
The middle passage is a term used to describe the journey that enslaved Africans endured in slave trips as they travelled from West Africa to the Americas. The middle passage involved a variety of processes which created harsh conditions for the African slaves. A few of the conditions the slaves endured included the tight living space in which they slept, the amount of food they were given, unbearable high temperatures in living space, throwing slaves off board and slaves throwing themselves off board and the putrid smells the tight and hot living quarters
