What Is The Significance Of The Door In The Lady Or The Tiger

A long time ago there was a princess who had the same strong character as the king. The king found out that the princess was having a love affair with a handsome commoner, which was a crime and he wanted the young boy to be punished. The king had a unique way to punish crime. He had created an arena that had two doors. One door held a lovely lady behind it to which the accused would be married to immediately. The second door held a hungry tiger that would end up chewing the accused to death. The accused had the opportunity to choose one door to open, without knowing which door held the lady or the tiger. In “The Lady or the Tiger” by Frank Stockton, the princess had her young man open the door with the tiger behind it. In this story, the logical reason is that the princess would lead
The emotional example is the princess is very much like her father but with a character that had more force she would rather see her lover die than set to be happy without her. A statement the author makes is “The princess hated the women behind that silent door. She hated her with all the intensity of the blood passed to her through long lines of cruel ancestors.” (Stockton, 2). Another emotional example is that the princess feels a lot of envy towards the girl behind the other door, and maybe even more if her lover gets to marry her. She might rather see him dead than let the pretty lady marry the commoner.
In “The Lady or the Tiger” by Frank Stockton the author leaves the readers with doubt and clues to what might the princess might have chosen. Which door did the princess lead her lover to? Would she have chosen the logical or emotional
