The tone of this poem is warm, and relaxed, and just loving. There is no conflict of any sorts, and it follows a variety of rhyming patterns at different places to help its flow seem more soothing. I chose the right words so that there could be a primarily sentimental tone in my poem. The artistic goal to the reader concerning this would be to get the reader to appreciate their mothers or any other important woman figure in their lives more than they normally would. Often times we take the things woman do and go through for granted and I believe it deserves to be recognized. My poem has a unified theme of appreciation for woman that is supported by using literacy devices. One literacy device that I used was Simile. This can be found on lines 5 and 6, in which I used like and as to compare 2 different things. Its impact was strong because it did a good job of explaining. It gives the reader a picture in their head of a woman they have probably not seen in their life. Another literacy device that was used was personification. This can be found on line 9, where I assigned human qualities to something that isn’t alive. Light isn’t a human, and therefore it can’t
