I won't judge you on your opinion, if you don't judge mine. I was just curious to see some of the responses from this question. I feel that when some people use the term that music now a days isn't "real" or takes no "talent" doesn't have a factual argument behind it. I'm sure that in previous generations, the music the listened to was also called not "real" by others older than them, but now that's what is referred to as real music. Does this mean that generations from now the music of the 2000's will be classified as "real" music? If so then what really is real music? Or as I believe, all music, ( Rap, Screamo, Country, R&B, Hip Hop, etc) is real. It has an instrumental background, (with actual instruments or synthesizers), a singer(s) (Raw talent or the help from a studio) and pure entertainment and joy from listening to it. That's what I believe, music is. So feel free to voice your ideas on this question. I would love to hear how you view modern music.
I dont' like much modern music apart from Rock and indie and metal etc...Personally, I don't have much respect for singers who just get up on stage and sing/lip sync songs that other people composed and write for them. I don't call that talent, it's just karaoke. Talent is being able to write your own songs, play your own instruments and actually sing live. and making it big your own way, not by going on some crappy tv talent show.
Some of the lyrics in songs today are pretty bad, 7 year old's look up to these people and go round singing these lyrics, it's pretty bad..
All the best music was written 20 years+ in my opinion and I'm only 16.
Modern Music
In an age of error the most influential thing in a child and or a teenagers life is music. Whether it be Reggae, Hip Hop, Gangster Rap, R&B, Oldies Rock, Latin, or Heavy Metal it still has a way to overpower a persons mind no matter how old they are. Right now pretty much everybody that I talk to when I am on the
