What Jesus means to me
Jesus has transformed the lives of many, including me. To some people, he is a story, just a legend. But to me, he is a King, a Savior, but most of all, he's my best friend. I've heard people talk about Jesus like he's some kind of made up story, or even a joke. Also, a name to say when they slam their thumb in the door. They don't seem to realize that he's as real as the person sitting right next to you. I can talk to him, explain my day, and you know what's great? He's never too busy to listen. God always has time to listen to me. God wants to be with you every second of every day, not for a few hours a week. Jesus, to me, is a king worthy of all praise. He is God almighty. He is the light of the world, when all seems to be darkened. He is my savior. Jesus is my best friend. The person I cry to when I've had a bad day. The person I thank when my day has gone well. I go running to Jesus when it seems like my whole world is crashing down and, somehow, everything just seems....okay. He lifts me to my feet, dusts off my shoulders and helps me get back in the fight. A personal relationship with God is just like any other. In order for it to be healthy, it needs communication. The way I communicate with God is simply through prayer. He's available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. He doesn’t care when or how you talk to him, he just wants to be a part of our lives. He is God almighty. I do realize (and have experienced) that because I love Jesus, I'm not always going to be the most popular kid in school. But you know what? That's okay, because I do love my God and can't live without him. He gives my life meaning. So to me, Jesus is more than a story, more than sitting in a church half paying attention. He is real, he is alive and he loves me. My life hasn't always been easy, but Jesus never left me. He was always there to wipe away my tears, to give me his shoulder to cry on and give me strength to carry on when things just aren't going my way. So when I hear the word Jesus I think of a king and a savior, but also, my best friend.

I moved to the Atlanta area due to a promotion with my company. The position required frequent travel every other week. Initially, while my family was still at our home in Florida, awaiting sale, I felt it better to travel as much as possible to gain as much experience as imaginable on the road to not take as much time away from my family when they arrive. I was fortunate to travel with team members and to learn from each of them. One particular guy, Mike, is whom I spent the most time. Mike and I developed a friendship and still stay in touch today. Mike showed me the ropes of the job; we traveled to the wine country and visited San Francisco together on one weekend in California. Mike knew I was a believer and at times asked different questions about my faith. There was no five-question interaction or a special time of sharing the gospel with him. Mike began questioning his quality of life. He was searching for answers and meaning to life. Just a simple request; would you and Linda come with us to church? Mike started coming to our church. In a few weeks he accepted Christ. In a short time later his wife Linda accepted Christ and they serve Jesus in St.…

According to Christianity, Jesus is called the Lord, Leader, King of Heavens and Earth, Great Provider; but people do not understand who Jesus is exactly for themselves. Jesus is the son of God, who martyred himself for God. For the majority of people, this question is too complicated to answer. What being a Christian means to me is first and foremost believing Jesus is the Son of God, and He died to save people from their sins. Being a Christian means a person believes Jesus is the only way one may be forgiven of their sins and receive eternal life. What makes someone a Christian is his or her faith, not deeds. If someone is a Christian, he or she will continually be conformed to the likeness of God’s one and only Son, who was perfect. This does not mean Christians will ever be perfect on earth, but we will mature as Christians more and more over time as the Holy Spirit convicts us and as we continue to live for God’s purpose. Being a Christian also means we surrender to God’s will, and we stop living for ourselves in our sinful nature and instead live to glorify God. Once a person has accepted Jesus into their heart as Lord and Savior, that person is dead to sin, and forever saved. If a person is never convicted to change their sinful behaviors and attitudes, I would question whether or not that person is a Christian. As Christians, we should most certainly obey God’s instruction to share the gospel with everyone, as Jesus instructed in the Great Commission. I do not believe doing good deeds makes one a Christian, but doing good deeds and putting others first is certainly a result of being a Christian. I also do not believe that anyone who is saved will not be convicted by the Holy Spirit to live for God. After all, we were made to glorify Him, the One who made us. The most important thing we as Christians are to show towards others is love. Love is what binds all other fruits of the Spirit together. Even if we have faith that can move mountains, if we have not love, we are nothing. How much could we really serve, obey, and do God’s will if we do not love Him, others, and ourselves? My guess is not much. The Bible continually exhorts us to love others, Christians and…

    Trying To Be Like Jesus

I am attempting to seek Jesus daily by spending time with God in the morning before I start my day and finishing my day with him by praying each night. I also try to spread his love though out my day, by my actions and showing love to others. I use the words attempting and trying because I am a human and I often fail, especially by a Christ like standard, and it always an uphill struggle. I believe that trying is the key because if you expect yourself to live like Christ all of the time and spend an hour on quiet time every morning you will end up discouraged and unwilling to continue the fight for a relationship with Jesus. I have bad days like everyone else, but maybe by striving to be like Jesus even on the bad days I believe I will have…

Jesus is the savior. He is the one who gave up his life to forgive the sins of all humankind and to give all of us a second chance at life. Jesus is God's son, sent by God to die to save us all because God loves us and wants to give us all second chances. Growing up in a Christian home, I was taught from a young age to thank Jesus because he sacrificed himself for me and everyone I know so that we can go to Heaven. As a young child, knowing that the result of following Jesus was going to Heaven, it made it ten times easier to truly try and follow Jesus. Jesus is the main staple in my every day life.…
