What Makes Me, Me A little over twenty years ago, my grandparents decided to move out to a little town called Huntsburg. They bought twenty-eight acres of field that had a farm house on the far end off of a dirt street called Stillwell Road and thus the “Martin Complex” was born. They have four boys, my dad and his three brothers, who all currently have houses on the property. My house consists of my parents, Bill and Lisa, my sisters, Katie and Allie, my brother, Billy, and my dog, Kilo. I am the oldest sibling, as well as the oldest grandchild, so my parents and family expect me to set a good example for the other nine grandchildren to follow. All my life the only neighbors I have had are my aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents. We are all very family oriented people and I love the fact my family so close to me, especially in times of need, because we are all there for each other. Every Sunday we go to morning mass at St. Helen Church and then later everyone heads to my grandparents’ house for family dinner. We also celebrate birthdays and all the big holidays together. Besides my family, there are three things that have really made me who I am. This past May I graduated from Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin School. There I studied hard, earning very good grades, and played softball and golf. Softball is my favorite sport and I have been playing since I was about five years old. Playing softball makes me feel free and gives me a sense of belonging. I love every aspect of the game and it is something I truly enjoy doing. Every memory I have of softball, good or bad, has my dad right there with me helping me practice, encouraging me, cheering me on, and telling me to smile. Out of all my family members, I have the best relationship with my dad because he understands me the best. He is also the oldest of four children so he recognizes all the fears I have and realizes all the stress I put on
