What Makes My Undocumented

My Undocumented American Dream consists of the same concepts as mostly everyone else's, to succeed and achieve happiness. My parents migrated to America because they believed it was the ideal place for me to be raised in. As I grew up I saw the intentions of my parents. They want me to have all the opportunities they wish they had. They want me to possess a proper education and be able to use it to help others. Their vision isn't for me to own riches or luxuries, they want me to educate myself in order for me to feel unrestricted. If I go to college I have the chance to make a living doing what I love without having to say I can't because I never made it past high school. I don't want a million dollar job all I want is to be able to pursue what I love without saying I'm not
We are portrayed as dreamers, which is true. But aren't we all? Society give us this name because that's all we're destined to achieve. We are only allowed to dream because the obstacles set in our paths are too much for us to fight against. I fear that every undocumented student is beginning to embrace the idea that our dreams are intangible. That after seeing society view dreamers as a lost case, were beginning to believe it. Before knowing what the term undocumented meant we were all people who believed in our dreams, but now many of us give up. We take pity in our circumstances and blame society for our failures. We've forgotten the proper way to dream. As an undocumented student, I am meant to feel restricted and feel a certain hatred towards society for denying me certain opportunities. There came a point in my life where I did envy those with proper documents, where I began to feel my circumstances consume my motivation and optimism. But after various nights of pondering I've come to fathom that I just like every other person have the ability to fulfill my
