WE ARE Human.
There are more than seven billion humans in this world, but not because we have a heart, or a pair of eyes does it make us human. It is what comes deeper within our souls and our spirits that entitles us as a human being. We have the knowledge of knowing right from wrong, but whether we decide to do the right rather than the wrong is our choice. Therefor we have the power of deciding what kind of person we are, what kind of values we have, and what kind morals we follow. Our different emotions that we experience throughout our life enables us determine what kind of life we want to lead.
As a human we have the natural instinct to care for ourselves more than we care about others. We are careless and narrow minded about those who surround us. We always want to be unique and without knowing that we already are different we try to change. We commit many mistakes in our life and they are mistakes that we sometimes wish to be redeemed for. We commit these mistakes because we become so focused on the non-real things rather than reality. In the story “The Picture of Dorian Gray”, by Oscar Wilde, it shows the characteristics of how corruptive, careless, and narrow minded a human could be. Dorian Gray shows features of an egocentric person. He grew a strong passion for himself after he became known to some theories of life. He didn’t learn much about them but his mentality completely changed after a few smart words. Dorian’s infatuation caused him to make the mistake of giving up his soul for the sake of staying young and beautiful forever. Dorian portrayed anonymity when he accepted that fact that portrait was holding all of his evil and that was a greater contribution to how mistake. Us as humans have the tendency to follow what people say in order to feel accepted. We forget about our own values and morals and change them to be the same as others. Without the intentions to hurt ourselves we make dumb mistakes.
