This hasn't really answered the question as I still haven't told you what makes a good movie. A good movie needs to be a movie that does not bore people to death. How do you make a movie like that then? There are many ways to answer that question, but I will start with special effects. To make a good movie, it is not necessary to have good special effects, but good special effects can help make a good movie. A lot of movies nowadays use special effects to make the movie better, like 'The matrix', 'Lord of the rings', and countless other movies. A lot of people comment on the special effects of a movie after watching the movie. There are times when people say: "That movie was horrible but the special effects surely were very good. So having special effects helps having a good movie.
The next thing I will talk about that helps with making a good movie a the acting skills of the actors in the movie. A good example of good acting is Johnny Depp in the movie 'Pirates of the Carribean'. If his acting had been bad in the movie, a lot less people would have liked the movie.
Possibly, the thing most people care about while watching a movie is the main character and how he or she acts. This isn't very surprising as usually a movie is focused on the main character. Often, a lot of people judge the movie from how good the main characters are and whether they like the main characters or not. Examples of good main characters are Neo in 'The matrix', Captain Jack Sparrow in 'Pirates of the Caribbean' and Marcus in 'Gladiator'.
What I think most strongly about though is that no one thing can just turn a movie good but really it takes a combination of things to turn a movie good.

What makes a good movie? An engaging plotline, talented actors and actresses; perhaps a happy ending? Movies have always been an important part of American culture; of course, they can entertain us but they can also hold up mirrors to society, raising awareness about issues we need to pay attention to, and help us form opinions. But it’s getting harder and harder to find good movies in current theaters. Current films are being made in an age where almost any movie can pass as a good one, not necessarily due to talent or skill, but due to the weakening of the standards we once held our films up to. The 1930 Motion Picture Production Code gave filmmakers a set of guidelines that let only the most talented films reach audiences; it provided audiences with quality films that didn’t have to sacrifice artistry for explanation or lean on pointless vulgarities to catch audiences’ attentions; it acted as a filter that allowed only the finer-made films to be shown to the people who loved them and kept coming back to see them. The 1930s film code was the superior code because it gave the public superior films.…

In life, we realize that we all have different views and that is what makes our thinking different. When it comes to watching a movie; whether it is horror, action, or comedy, we tend to think of the movies differently based on the way we think of life. People do not go see a movie for the same reasons. Some go just to show off that they saw the movie that everyone was talking about over the weekend and some go see a movie just to take their girlfriend out on a date. Most of the time, we do not go see a movie because we think we are going to learn something from it. We usually go just for entertainment. We learn something from every film we watch. If one whole group of people watched the same film they will learn something different based on the social economic and environment experiences they have had.…

According to McCormick (2013), the patient has the right of autonomy, nonmaleficence, beneficence, and justice. Patient autonomy allows the patient to “act intentionally, with understanding, and without controlling influences that would mitigate against a free and voluntary act” (McCormick, 2013). The patient was given autonomy through discussion with the midwife, neonatologist, and perinatologist assigned to her care and the patient was then allowed to decide the course of action to be taken. Nonmaleficence gives the patient the right to avoid intentional harm or injury. Prolonging induction of labor until the patient exhibits clinical signs of infection for insurance reimbursement denies the patient the right to nonmaleficence. McCormick…

For some it is the promise of romance for others it’s a chance to be something they are not, and still others find an alternate reality better than the one they are currently in. For the writer the escape makes the movies enjoyable. The thrill of being at the movie and pretending that he can be in the world, or that he could be beating up the bad guys. Comedy is another factor in the writer finding a movie enjoyable. The movie doesn’t have to be a comedy just that there is some sort of comedic element to the movie. The last factor that makes the writer find movies enjoyable is the acting. If the actors are good they make the movie feel real and that makes the movie…

Aesthetics is important in films; the basic yet complicating task when producing one, along with directing, acting, editing and post production process. In fact it is the complete puzzle piece that a film needs, which determines the quality of the film itself. Every single detail is essentially important to the film, from the bold dialogue to the small detailed movement, from the frayed clothes to the thick oblivious make-up, everything has to be well done for a film to be qualified for excellence. What makes mise en scene’s elements the most crucial part in films, is that it tells the story, before adding the dialogues, music or elaborated sound effects.
